"If the people are hungry, feed them." A simple statement, but a powerful vision. It is what drives us to continue doing our part to support those in need in the small town of Pomaria South Carolina.

One morning, Shelvy felt God telling her that there was a need for help in Pomaria, SC and He wanted to use her to meet that need.
With the support of her husband, Jeff, the Pomaria Community Food Bank was born that same afternoon. They began asking for bread from the
local grocery stores and giving out donated food to those in need, all from the trunk of their car.
“At times, we’d be so caught up in putting food on these people’s tables, that we’d forget about our own!” Shelvy mused.
“I can remember our daughter calling to tell me, ‘We don’t have any food in the house!’”
14 years later, with support from the community, local churches, and volunteers, the Pomaria Community Food Bank provides meals
for 350 families a month from their building in downtown Pomaria.
Donations of non-perishable food items such as canned meat (tuna, chicken), rice, dried beans, canned goods (veggies, ravioli, soup), flour, sugar, powdered milk, etc. are always needed.
Don’t have time to shop, but still want to help with supplies? You can make a monetary donation by check to Pomaria Community Food Bank, 110 Victoria St. Pomaria, SC 29126.
Prayers are always greatly appreciated! Join us in praying that needs would be met and lives would be changed through this ministry.
